SU Transport is run by Julian and is located on the 3rd floor of the Students' Union. The Transport Office provides vehicles for SU use, including minibuses and large MPVs, to students and staff. The office also trains and assesses drivers and promotes safe driving. The Transport desk is open 9am - 4pm but with testing and vehicle checks, it is recommended to call or email to book meetings.
We currently lease vehicles which are available for clubs & societies to use for official trips. We are hoping to increase the fleet to 10 by late September 2023.
Currently we have - 2 x 9 seater Ford Tourneo and 4 x 15 seater Ford Transit 15 seater Mini Buses.
Hires may be available with more than 72 hrs notice, these range from cars, SUV, MPV, vans both SWB and LWB and Minibuses, however you will need to have a D1 on your driving licence to drive a hired external 17 seater minibus.
The hire of these vehicles when ALL SU ones are allocated will be at the full cost to the Club/SOC/Other.
To be eligible to drive the vehicles, Club/SOc/Other members must pass a MiDAS test. The test varies for the different vehicle class. For tests and registration please visit the Student Portal.
