On the third floor of the Students' Union, Julian oversees SU Transport, providing a range of vehicles, including minibuses and large MPVs, to students and staff. The Transport Office not only offers access to vehicles but also conducts driver training and assessments to ensure safe driving practices. Operating from 9 am to 4 pm, the Transport desk is available for inquiries, though scheduling meetings is recommended through calls or emails due to ongoing testing and vehicle checks.
Presently, we lease vehicles that clubs and societies can utilize for official trips. The current fleet includes 6 x 9-seater Ford Tourneo and 4 x 15-seater Ford Transit Mini Buses.
Vehicle hires are possible with over 72 hours' notice, ranging from cars, SUVs, and MPVs to vans (both SWB and LWB) and minibuses. Note that driving a hired external 17-seater minibus requires a D1 endorsement on your license.
In cases where all SU vehicles are allocated, clubs, societies, and other entities may still access vehicles at the full cost. Individuals eligible to drive these vehicles must pass a MiDAS test, with specific tests for different vehicle classes. For test details and registration, please visit the Student Portal.
