Athletics Club

Welcome to Cardiff University Athletics Club 2021-22!

Fun, fast and friendly. From casual social runs to national championships to massive nights in the SU, Cardiff University Athletics Club (CUAC) has something for you.

Whether you are looking for a fun and affordable sports club to be part of, training for your next marathon, or want to compete at any level it would be great to have you along!

Training:

We organise training for every type and level of athlete. From track and field, to cross country and road racing, to jogging around Cardiff, we offer something for everyone. See our Training page for full details of what’s on, and the Routes page for where to go. Our sprints, field and endurance sessions are professionally coached to provide a fun and safe environment for you to develop as an athlete.

Socials:

Club nights in the SU are iconic for a reason, and we’ll be there, as well as at post-race pubs, picnics and house parties - we are always conscious of our hydration levels. We have different social to suit everyone, and follow our social media for updates about what’s going on every week.

After races like BUCS, there’s always a huge night out with athletes from other universities, and we also offer our club members the chance to go away on tour with the club in Easter to run a road race in Europe. After cancellations due to covid, this will be bigger and better than ever!

Kit:

The club has a range of different items of kit on offer, from casual wear by Rhino and Copa to exclusive Pactimo competition vests. For full details of what’s available and how to get hold of it, see the Kit page.

Competitions:

From the local Gwent cross country league and track open meetings, to road races and marathons, as well as BUCS, Varsity, and National championships, there’s always something to be training for.

For full details on what's happening and how to take part, see the Races and competitions page, and follow the club on social media for the latest updates. To see what goes on at BUCS, go to the BUCS page, and for past results and club records see Results.

Injuries happen when you’re training hard or as a result of accidents, and between us we’ve had a few. Fortunately, subsidised physiotherapy and sports massage sessions are available to club members, and we’ll also help you with cross-training. For full information see the Physiotherapy and sports massage page.
