Enriching Student Life Awards (ESLAs)

At the end of every academic year we like to celebrate the hard work of students and staff who have contributed to enriching the student experience here at Cardiff. The Enriching Student Life Awards, or the ESLAs as they are known, take place on 28th April 2016 and are hosted in the Students’ Union.

There is a nomination and shortlisting process to determine the winners. Nominations are open to all students and staff. There are some particularly prestigious awards like Student Rep of the Year, Most Innovative staff member, most effective staff member and the ESLA. We realise how hard staff and reps work throughout the year and this is just a small way to show our appreciation.

Do you know a lecturer that's really inventive? Have you got a receptionist that always brightens your day? Is there a member of security who always looks out for you? Or an administrator that knows everything and can always provide the answer?

How to nominate someone

We at the Students' Union are asking you to nominate the best staff from across the University for a set of 12 special awards. You can read all about our awards using the two links in English and Welsh below.

How Are They Judged?

The nominations will be judged by a panel made up of students, Students' Union staff and University staff. Include as much information and detail as you can on the form, as the nominations will be judged on the following criteria:

  • The level to which the student(s) experience has been enhanced.
  • The amount of students that have been affected by the staff member.
  • The time that the staff member has put in enhancing the student experience.
