Cost of Living

Supporting Students. Driving Change.

Tackling the Cost of Living Crisis is one of our key priorities this year. We know that rising costs are having a significant impact on students, from rent and energy bills to food, transport and study costs. We're committed to ensuring students receive the support they need during this challenging period, including campaigning for increased financial assistance and improved access to support services.

We're supporting students through initiatives including The Pantri, Period Dignity, accessible study and social spaces, wellbeing activities, low-cost food options and employment opportunities through Jobshop and we'll continue to build on this work throughout the year.

This page is your hub for all of our Cost of Living work. Here you'll find practical support, money-saving resources and campaign updates throughout the year.

What We're Doing
As your Students' Union we're using student feedback to push for improvements that make a real difference to students' lives.

Our work includes:

  • Campaigning for improved financial support for students.
  • Working with the University to ensure the student voice is represented in decision-making.
  • Promoting access to financial support, grants and bursaries.
  • Providing practical support through services such as The Pantri, Advice and Jobshop.
  • Gathering student feedback to inform future campaigning and priorities.

Returning this year?
