Congratulations to all our student competitors who took part in the 2023 Welsh Varsity tournament, you should be very proud of your performance today.
More than 10,000 student spectators came to cheer on the teams in the long-awaited return of Welsh Varsity to the capital city as the tournament celebrates it’s 25th anniversary. Varsity is still one of the largest student sporting events in the UK and an unforgettable rite of passage for all our students, whether they’re competing or cheering from the stands. We’d like to say a big thank you to our Team Cardiff supporters who have come and rallied the teams since the tournament began on the 19th April. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

“Having Welsh Varsity back on home turf for the 25th Anniversary has been a special and momentous occasion. Varsity is always a key day in the University calendar and is an opportunity for our students to make memories that will last a lifetime whether playing to spectating. To mark this Varsity with a Cardiff win just makes these memories more special!”
Welsh Varsity provides an opportunity for the whole student community to come together and celebrate student sport and show pride for the University as a whole. The day celebrates the diversity of sport in many forms, from football to fencing, water polo to ultimate frisbee and triathlon to tennis! For the competitors, it is a pinnacle of the sporting calendar and a chance to compete to both represent individual sports and the wider Team Cardiff community.
The result represents a powerful return for Team Cardiff, something they will hope to replicate for many years to come.

Mae Caerdydd wedi ennill Tarian Varsity Cymru a Chwpan Varsity yn y 25ain Varsity Cymru
Llongyfarchiadau i'n holl fyfyrwyr a gystadlodd a chymerodd ran yn nhwrnamaint Varsity Cymru 2023, dylech fod yn falch iawn o'ch perfformiad heddiw.
Daeth dros 10,000 o wylwyr myfyrwyr i gefnogi’r timau yn wrth i Varsity Cymru ddychwelyd, ar ôl yr aros, i'r brifddinas wrth i'r twrnamaint ddathlu ei phen-blwydd yn 25 oed. Mae Varsity yn dal i fod yn un o'r digwyddiadau chwaraeon mwyaf i fyfyrwyr yn y DU ac yn ddefod newid byd bythgofiadwy i'n holl fyfyrwyr, p'un a ydynt yn cystadlu neu'n bloeddio o'r stondinau. Hoffem ddiolch o galon i'n cefnogwyr tîm Caerdydd sydd wedi dod i ralïo'r timau ers dechrau'r twrnamaint ar y 19eg o Ebrill. Gobeithio i chi ei fwynhau gymaint ag y gwnaethon ni.

"Mae cael Varsity Cymru yn ôl ar dir cartref ar gyfer ei Phen-blwydd 25ain wedi bod yn achlysur arbennig ac arwyddocaol. Mae Varsity bob amser yn ddiwrnod allweddol yng nghalendr y Brifysgol ac yn gyfle i'n myfyrwyr wneud atgofion a fydd yn para oes, boed yn chwarae neu'n gwylio. Mae nodi'r Varsity yma gyda buddugoliaeth i Gaerdydd jyst yn gwneud yr atgofion yma'n fwy arbennig!"
Mae Varsity Cymru yn gyfle i holl gymuned y myfyrwyr ddod at ei gilydd i ddathlu chwaraeon myfyrwyr a dangos balchder i'r Brifysgol yn ei chyfanrwydd. Mae'r diwrnod yn dathlu amrywiaeth chwaraeon ar sawl ffurf, o bêl-droed i ffensio, polo dŵr i ffrisbi eithaf a threiathlon i denis! I'r cystadleuwyr, mae'n uchafbwynt y calendr chwaraeon ac yn gyfle i gystadlu i gynrychioli campau unigol yn ogystal â chymuned ehangach Tîm Caerdydd.
Mae'r canlyniad yn golygu dychweliad pwerus i Dîm Caerdydd, rhywbeth y byddan nhw'n gobeithio ei efelychu am flynyddoedd lawer i ddod.
