Voting is now open in the Spring Elections, and you have until 4pm on Thursday 7th March to cast your votes!
What positions are available?
The Students' Union is a democratic membership organisation. This means that every decision we make is made by you, our students at Cardiff University. The Students' Union is led by groups such as our Sabbatical Officers, Campaign Officers, Student Senate, Executive Committees, and NUS delegates.
All Sabbatical Officer and Campaign Officer positions will be elected during the Spring elections for the academic year 2024/25. See the full list of positions available, and their role descriptions.

How do I find out about the candidates?
All candidates are asked to produce a manifesto for the election. This manifesto gives you are insight into what their priorities will be and why they think you should vote for them. These manifestos will become available to view prior to voting opening.

What are the key dates I need to remember?
- Nominations Open: Monday 11th December, 10am
- Nominations Close: Tuesday 6th February, 4pm
- Voting Opens: Monday 4th March, 10am
- Voting Closes: Thursday 7th March, 4pm
- Results Expected: Friday 8th March
Are there any rules?
All of our elections are governed by our 4 election principles and our election regulations. The 4 key election principles are :
- Students must be free to cast their vote without undue influence or pressure.
- Obey the law, union and university policies
- Candidates should focus on their own campaign and thus avoid interfering with the campaigning of others
- Items produced or primarily used for your campaign must be accounted for within the given allowance in line with the unions’ financial election regulations.
These principles help to ensure our elections are as fair as possible and that all students have a fair opportunity to vote and take part in the process.
