Ladies' Cricket Club
Welcome to Cardiff University Ladies' Cricket Club!
About Ladies cricket:
Here at CULCC everyone is welcome whether you've never played before but want to give it a go, or if you're an experienced player looking for a fun team to join. New players to the game will have the opportunity to learn the sport, how to be part of a team, and make some great friends along the way! For anyone who wishes to try something new at university, brush up on your cricket skills or get involved in a social and welcoming club Ladies' cricket is for you. We have no trials - all abilities are welcome!
Training Times for 2019/2020:
Friday 5:30-7:30 pm: Cricket-oriented fitness session
Sunday 4-5:30pm : Cricket skills, nets
Training is aimed to not only improve cricket ability but also general fitness, and includes a variety of cricket-orientated fitness exercises, skills, and nets.
All training will be at Talybont Sports Centre - players who want to get the most out of the club should try to attend every session!
We always participate in the BUCS indoor league, playing matches at SWALEC in November. We had our best season last year, winning 5 out of 6 matches and hope to match or better that this year! We had our first outdoor season last year at our home ground Vale CC, it was a great experience to build as a team and we will be doing it again this year!
Our club is not only committed to the sport aspect of cricket but also the social side. Our two new social secretaries have some exciting socials planned, not only nights out but also watching some of the local cricket matches which are right on our doorstep at the SSE SWALEC. Non-alcoholic socials will also be planned, so there will be something for everyone to enjoy. We also have a Christmas meal and an end of the year meal/awards night.
