We offer three different types of sessions:

Our traditional karate & kata session is the foundation for all levels of training. Whether you are just starting out or have been training for many years, this class reinforces the essential techniques and prinicples of karate. This class will include kihon (basics/line work), partner/pad work, and also be used to teach new katas (forms) and for competition kata practice.

We have two different types of kumite/fighting sessions. On Tuesdays, our kumite session will be focused around drills (with partners) and fitness/conditioning exercises. On Saturdays, you will have the chance to put the drills into practice in our sparring session where you will fight people of the similar experience/abilities in test matches with refereeing.

Our beginner session is our dedicated session to those just starting their karate journey. It is helpful for those who may not feel comfortable training with more experienced members, the class teaches the same fundamentals as our traditional class but moves at a slower pace. Please note beginners are welcome to attend our other sessions as well as/instead of this session.

If you would like to grade or compete you must attend the traditional/kata (or beginner) session to be eligible. Preferably this would be 4 traditional sessions a month but any problems with attendence speak to committee.
