Vegetarian & Vegan Society
Welcome to Cardiff University Vegan and Vegetarian society!
Who are we?
We are a welcoming student community passionate about plant-based living, animal welfare, and environmental sustainability. Whether you are motivated by reducing animal exploitation, cutting your carbon footprint, or exploring healthy food options, our society provides an inclusive space to share ideas and connect with like-minded people.
Who can join?
The society is open to everyone—you do not need to be vegan or vegetarian to join, just come with an open mind! If you are not a student at Cardiff University, you can still participate by purchasing an associate membership (please contact our President for more details).
What do we do?
This year we have lots on the horizon! We are open to any suggestions, but we are planning: socials & food tours, day trips & sanctuary visits (including volunteering), society collaborations, and community & fundraising events.
A note on campaigning & initiatives: We prioritise creating an inclusive, low-pressure social environment where everyone feels welcome, so we aren't primarily a high-pressure campaigning group.
Ultimately, this is your society. We welcome suggestions and feedback, and members are always encouraged to help shape future activities!
When and where do we meet?
At the moment we do not have a regular weekly meeting slot. Instead, we meet at pre-planned socials, events or meetings. Information on the time, location and what you will need to bring will be communicated via our Instagram and on WhatsApp. In order to be added to the WhatsApp group chat, you must be a member of the society.
Looking forward to meeting you!
