Are you a healthcare student looking for a volunteering opportunity at university?
Are you looking for an opportunity to volunteer with children?
Are you looking for a flexible opportunity, run by healthcare students that understand the stresses of lectures and placement?
Teddy Bear Hospital is for you!!
We are a student led society open to all Healthcare Students (With a DBS Check). Our aim is to reduce children's fears of hospitals, doctors and dentists through play. We visit children at school or in after school scouting groups such as Rainbows, Cubs and Brownies and use the fun medium of teddys and our stations to teach them about basic anatomy, teeth-brushing, germs and healthy eating.
Before taking part in visits, all members must have completed our training session and completed Child Protection Training, which we provide in the Autumn term. The training session familiarises new members with the equipment we use on visits and offers the chance to talk to more experienced members about how the stations run.
We also hold fundraising events and socials to raise money for the Noah's Ark Children's Hospital Charity.
