Oxfam is a global movement of people who share the belief that, in a world rich in resources, poverty isn’t inevitable. Cardiff University students have a great history of supporting Oxfam and we would like to make supporting Oxfam part of Uni life again. We cannot promote the important work Oxfam does without your help, so we are looking for volunteers to help Cardiff University re-join the global movement.
The society will encourage students to take part in campaign actions, which involves doing photo stunts to writing to MPs. By taking part in the society you will also be able to get involved in various fundraising events across the year, such as Oxjam music festival.
Group members will have the opportunity to commit fully in different positions (e.g. a fundraising team, an Oxjam team, a campaigns team) or just attend meetings/volunteer whenever suits them. Our mailing list and social media pages should allow for more people to be involved than would like to commit to weekly meetings.
