Big Band

Cardiff University Big Band comprises fine new jazz talent from the university scene. An auditioned band, they perform challenging, high quality jazz across the UK and Internationally. High profile concerts in the past have included the Lord Mayor's Charity Gala at BBC Hoddinott Hall, the Montreux Jazz Festival, Lake Geneva and most recently the televised rounds of S4C's Band Cymru 2018. The Big Band is regarded as one of the leading ensembles in the university, specialising in both contemporary big band repertoire and innovative new arrangements, as well as playing the classics of Miller, Basie and Ellington
