Cardiff Students for Global Health is branch of Students for Global Health UK, a UK-wide network of students who challenge inequalities in health that persist across the world. We do this through education, advocacy and action at a local level; run entirely by students-and not just by medical students for for students- anyone can get involved!
To give you an idea of what to expect, in the last year we attended national conferences, fundraised for some great local and global charities, and ran a short course where we covered topics including gender-based violence and HIV. We also ran many other great events that you can see by visiting our facebook page. Next year we want to do another great job, focussing on education, advocacy and action!
FOR MORE INFORMATION:
Don't worry if you don't have any experience or knowledge of Global Health, there will be plenty of opportunities for training thoughout the year. If you want to get more involved, don't hesitate to get in touch via our facebook page or email.
This term we'll be doing the Live Below the Line challenge. The WHO poverty line is £1 a day for all food and drink. Join us in this campaign week in order to fundraise so others can rise above it. The idea is that all throughout the week we want to make some noise about food poverty in the UK and beyond and donate the money we save on shopping towards the Trussell Trust who provide emergency food packages for families in crisis in the UK.
Absolutely everyone is welcome to join in and if you'd rather just donate, you can donate to our group fundraising page.
