FAD is a quadruple award winning dance society within Cardiff Students' Union offering commercial style classes every week at Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels. FAD stands for fitness and dance, and that’s exactly what we aim to bring to our members!
Our commercial dance classes are a fun, sassy (and cheap!) way to keep fit whilst being surrounded by an amazing group of people. The style is most easily described as the one often seen in modern/pop music videos: think Beyonce, Britney, Ciara, Little Mix, etc. We never take ourselves too seriously and welcome everyone to join. All classes are taught by committee members who are students here at Cardiff University!
All members have the opportunity to perform routines learnt in classes in both the Winter and Spring showcases at the end of each term. If you’re a keen dancer, we also provide the opportunity to audition for Troupe - our competition team! They perform on behalf of the society at competitions across the UK.
Over the years we’ve built a reputation for hosting some hilarious, lively and 'Fadulous' socials every other week ending with nights out at YOLO!
We also run non-alcoholic socials and charity events and continue to work closely with other dance societies within Cardiff Students' Union.
