We are the Hong Kong Public Affairs and Social Service Society (HKPASS)! As a society, we seek primarily to raise awareness on sociopolitical issues in Hong Kong, encouraging social involvement, as well as providing academic and future career support to Hong Kong students studying at Cardiff University.
The first HKPASS society was first founded in 1999 by students of LSE, aiming to raise awareness on public issues and encourage social involvement. Many universities across the UK have since established HKPASS in their respective universities.
We believe through shedding light on sociopolitical issues in Hong Kong, we will be able to familiarize students with current affairs. Thus, allowing Hong Kong students, as well as people interested in the political situation in Hong Kong to grasp a better understanding of what is happening in Hong Kong. Hence, we hope to provide the means for members to exchange ideas and share their own views regarding different matters.
We also wish to create a platform where academic and future career support is provided to our members and those interested in possible career opportunities in Hong Kong, through organizing events not limited to career talks, events, and fairs.
