The Guild of Societies is the umbrella organisation of every student led society at Cardiff University Students' Union. It's led by Milly, your VP Societies, and the Societies Executive Committee. You must be a member of the Guild to join any societies. Membership cost £5 but you only have to pay one fee per year, regardless of how many societies you join. The money is then used to support societies with all of their amazing activities.
If the membership of a society you want to join lasts for longer than one year then you need to purchase a lifetime membership, which lasts all the way through university until you graduate. If you've already purchased a year's membership you can still get a lifetime membership by purchasing the add-on membership below.
If you are not a current student at Cardiff University, you are still able to join our amazing Societies! First of all, get in touch with the Society that you are interested in joining and see if the committee are happy for you to join. If they are happy, you need to buy an Associate Membership to the Guild of Societies. This is £30, but if you are a student or member of staff at another University, or an alumnus of Cardiff University, you can purchase a cheaper membership at the Finance Office. The Finance Office, based on the 3rd Floor of the SU, is open 10am - 4pm on weekdays and you will need evidence that you are entitled to the cheaper membership. Get in touch if you have any questions about Associate Memberships!
