Hi/Shwmae! My name is Aurora (she/her) and I am excited to be your Ethical and Environmental Officer this year.
I am an international student from Norway, and I have now just started my 3rd year of my degree in the mathematics.
I first started being interested in how I could personally be more sustainable once I realised the negative effects fast fashion has on our environment, and I started thrifting and making my own clothes. This soon led me to be invited to help out on my local community's sustainable fashion day, where I showed how to upcycle clothes. I loved being a part of this, and since then I have engaged with events learning how to make more sustainable personal choices, and also how businesses can be more environmentally friendly.
I am now excited to help make Cardiff more sustainable, and also support students so that it is easier to make environmentally friendly choices.
Some of the aims I have for this year are:

More vegan option in the Taf, including more vegan alcohol options.

Bee hotels to provide refuge and safe passage for solitary native bees.

More plants in the Student's union.
