Announcing… PGR Power: Fuelling Your Teaching Experience!
This campaign aims to help protect Cardiff University’s PGR teaching provision during the current period of institutional transformation. Whilst PGR teaching provision remains out of scope during Academic Transformation, Schools are having to cut costs due to a shrinking budget, and this means that PGR teaching opportunities are still at risk. This will have a significant impact on PGRs who rely on teaching responsibilities for financial stability and professional development. Furthermore, removing or reducing PGR teaching will also have wider impact on academic staff workload alongside ensuring positive undergraduate teaching experiences.
The campaign also seeks to gather valuable insight into the processes and lived experiences of PGR tutors and demonstrators, allowing for future changes to be made in the run up to the launch of the new Graduate School. Additionally, it also seeks to gather valuable feedback on the undergraduate experience of being taught by PGR tutors and demonstrators and therefore inform improvements to the PGR teaching provision that supports high-quality learning experiences.
The survey below is open to all PGR tutors and demonstrators, undergraduate and postgraduate students who have been taught by PGRs, alongside academic and professional staff who have engaged with PGRs in the development and delivery of teaching provision.
