On Friday 13th April, UCU members voted in favour of accepting the new proposal that a joint panel will be established to reassess the pension issue. This means that all current industrial action has been called off.

Following this decision the Board of Trustees has reconsidered whether a referendum is required regarding whether the Union should actively support the UCU in the current industrial dispute. As both parties have now reached an agreement, the Board have decided there is no basis to hold a referendum, therefore it has been cancelled. We are sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused.

If further industrial action is announced by the UCU before the end of the academic year, the Sabbatical Officer team will propose to Cardiff University Students’ Union Board of Trustees that a new referendum is held to ensure that the student voice is heard.

Refferendwm

Ddydd Gwener 13 Ebrill, pleidleisiodd aelodau'r UCU o blaid derbyn y cynnig newydd y bydd panel ar y cyd yn cael ei sefydlu i ailystyried y broblem ynghylch pensiynau. Mae hyn yn golygu bod yr holl weithredu diwydiannol presennol wedi cael ei ganslo.

Yn dilyn y penderfyniad hwn, mae'r Bwrdd Ymddiriedolwyr wedi ailystyried a oes angen refferendwm ynghylch a ddylai'r Undeb gefnogi'r UCU yn yr anghydfod diwydiannol presennol. Gan fod y ddwy ochr bellach wedi dod i gytundeb, mae'r Bwrdd wedi penderfynu nad oes sail i gynnal refferendwm, felly mae wedi'i ganslo. Mae'n ddrwg gennym am unrhyw anghyfleustra achoswyd.

Os bydd yr UCU yn cyhoeddi unrhyw weithredu diwydiannol pellach cyn diwedd y flwyddyn academaidd, bydd tîm y Swyddogion Sabothol yn cynnig i Fwrdd Ymddiriedolwyr Undeb Myfyrwyr Prifysgol Caerdydd fod refferendwm newydd yn cael ei gynnal i sicrhau bod llais y myfyriwr yn cael ei glywed.
