Could YOU be the next VP Welsh Language, Community and Culture?

Sabbatical Officer roles are far from your typical job experience and will place you in a working environment which will encourage you to develop a new set of skills to engage an audience of 30,000 students, whilst also challenging and supporting university stakeholders. 

 

The Vice President Welsh Language, Community and Culture is a new role for the year 2023/24, moving into the Sabbatical Officer team after being a Campaign Officer role in previous years. The role is responsible for lobbying for equal provision for Welsh students, including for academic provision through the Welsh language. As part of the role, the Vice President Welsh Language, Community and Culture will run a range of campaigns and events throughout the year aimed at building the community of Welsh students in Cardiff, and promoting UMCC.

This is a full-time position, based at our Cathays Campus, and is fixed-term from 1st July 2023-30th June 2024.  The annual salary is over £20k and newly elected Sabbatical Officers will be provided with a comprehensive induction and training, so don't worry if you don't know everything yet!
