Cardiff Nightline is a student-led listening service that is available for students of Cardiff every night during term-time. Our phone service is open from 8pm-8am every evening whilst our Instant Messaging service is open from 8pm-12am. If you need someone to listen, you can call us on 02920 870555 or reach our IM service through cardiffnightline.co.uk.
We can provide information and offer a listening service to students. Our service is non-directive, non-judgmental and non-advisory.

The first Nightline was set up in 1970 at Essex University by a lecturer and Chaplain who both noticed the high levels of stress and anxiety amongst the students. They trained a small group of students to provide emotional support over the phone, offering a listening ear to the day-to-day struggles of their fellow students. There are now over thirty-six Nightlines across the UK and Ireland, with over two thousand student volunteers trained to deliver this confidential listening service. Our five principles are:
