Swimming & Waterpolo Club

Welcome to Cardiff University Swimming & Water Polo Club!

We are one of the most successful clubs in Cardiff University's Athletic Union.

Both the Men's and Women's Water Polo teams have a rich history of competition in the top divisions of the BUCS Championships, frequently fighting for medals against the top universities in the United Kingdom. The girls are currently competing in the Premier South Division where this year they hope to with the league stages and progress further than they ever have in the knockouts. The boys are hoping for a promotion back up to the Premier South Division but are currently competing in Western Tier 1. The Swimming team competes in both the BUCS Long and Short Course Championships, regularly making finals in these events. They also participate in BUSL, swimming against local universities in preparation for their big event!  They have secured a double promotion in the BUCS team championships in the past two seasons elevating them to the top division, competing against the finest university swimming teams in the UK. The club has always looked to build on its past successes and this year will be no different.

We are one of the most social clubs in the AU, with organised weekly socials on Wednesday nights with themes including 80s Night, British Icons, Togas and our highly attended Charity Ball and End of Year Ball. The success of the club is based on the incredible team spirit within the club and the friendliness of its members, welcoming anyone into the club no matter what their starting level. The club's social members are just as valued and respected as the most talented athletes.

If you are looking for a sports club that will keep you fit at the same time as being one of the highlights of your university life, then Swimming and Water Polo is for you!
