Sailing Club
Welcome to Cardiff University Sailing Club!
The Sailing Club is one of the largest, friendliest, and most inclusive clubs in the Athletic Union. We welcome anyone from complete beginners to experienced sailors. We run sessions every Wednesday afternoon at Cardiff Bay and weekends where weather allows.
If you want to have a go at sailing, please contact us via our Instagram or contact Laura - bellln@cardiff.ac.uk and we can work out a time for you to have a go.
Team Racing
For experienced sailors, we have multiple racing teams who train on a Wednesday and compete in regular events including BUCS. We run our own event, the Welsh Dragon in November. For more information contact our Team Racing Captain Tilly Phelps - matilda.phelps@icloud.com.
Yachting
We run our own yacht sailing where we have access to a fleet of 707 keelboats including opportunities to cruise and race, we also work with the local Yacht Clubs to get members crewing on racing in the Bristol Channel. try and get involved in Yacht sailing and also have opportunities and contacts with Cardiff Bay Yacht Club. Club Sailing
For those who want more relaxed sailing, low commitment or who are beginners, we run a social sailing session every Wednesday afternoon. We aim to do a mix of taught sessions, friendly games and racing and just having a sail around Cardiff Bay. For more information contact our Club Coordinator Sam Haws- hawssm@cardiff.ac.uk
Socials
Off the water we organise weekly socials with great themes and various fancy-dress nights. This is a great opportunity to meet fellow sailors and offers a mid-week break. For any information contact our Social Secretaries Quinn and James.
