Motorsports Club
Fancy joining the fastest, most adrenaline fuelled sport at University? Cardiff University Motorsports club is the club for you. Our members range from rally enthusiasts to casual arrive and drive Go-Kart lovers, all abilities welcome!
WHAT DO WE DO?
Joining the club will give you the chance to take part in a wide range of activities, covering all types of motorsport, both competitive and casual:
- We race in the world’s fastest arrive and drive karts at the British Universities Karting Championship. No previous experience necessary, all members can compete!
- We hold our own Club Championship, where members battle it out at the local indoor karting tracks in Cardiff, Newport and Bristol.
- We head up to the valleys for Quad Biking across Wales’ glorious terrain
- We hold Mini Moto Racing events for those of you with a two-wheeled inclination
- We hold regular socials every other week from the Cathays Pub Rally to the mighty drinking Olympics. We are an open club so bring along housemates and friends to join in the FUN!
SOCIAL EVENTS
Motorsports Club hosts a variety of socials to cater for all members. Whether you are a motorsport enthusiast or a casual motorsports fan, we host regular themed nights out. Turning up to the SU in various costumes and race overalls, or a cheeky night in Live Lounge are just some of the nights we have throughout the year! If you arent the drinking type its not a problem! We always aim to make sure there is non-alcoholic alternatives to our games and events, as well as dedicated non-alcoholic socials throughout the year! For the avid motorsports fan we regularly watch term time F1 races together. Most importantly we are open to anyone coming along, have a friend or housemate you want to bring? Bring them along to enjoy the Motorsports mayhem.
BUKC
The British Universities Karting Championship (BUKC) is a national karting competition which takes hundreds of students from institutions from all over the UK and puts them together racing in the most powerful arrive and drive karts in the world; with the aim of their university being crowned the BUKC Champion. Benefiting from live broadcasting, the BUKC attracts significant interest in the motorsport community and across the world.
With the 2023/2024 confirmed, the BUKC championship will return to some of the best and most favoured tracks in the country. Take a look at the calender for this year:

WANT TO SIGN UP?
Come visit us at the Sports Fair during Fresher's Week in Y Stiwdio of the Student Union. Our committee will be there all day so you will get a chance to meet us, ask any questions you have, and sign up! You can always sign up online at a later date; just make sure you don’t miss out on any events!
Refunds Policy
If you are unable to attend any of our events throughout the year, we sometimes offer a refund on your membership. This will be decided on a case-by-case basis depending on the number of sessions you have attended.
