Medics Squash Club
We are a squash club based at Talybont Courts open to all students from all courses.
We provide free weekly court time for our members, currently totalling 5 hours per week.
Named the healthiest sport by Forbes magazine (look it up!), squash is also a great way to unwind, socialise with other students, and stay fit - something we all need at university.
Students of all abilities and year groups are welcome. Most people who join have never picked up a racket before, and we’ve had students from every year really enjoy being part of the club.
Our training sessions are a great environment to improve your skills and fitness, with more experienced players always happy to offer basic coaching.
For those who want to compete, our teams play in the Squash South Wales Central League on weekday evenings. We also take part in well-established medical school tournaments that form part of NAMS, held in Sheffield and Birmingham, as well as our own tournament hosted in third term.
Medics Squash offers plenty of opportunities to develop your game. Some of our players have achieved ratings above 2000 on Squash Levels, so whether you’re a beginner or aiming higher, we provide the perfect environment to improve.
With many of our members on placement across Wales, there are always opportunities to play for the team. If you want to try competitive squash, you’ll always be welcome!
Alongside squash, we run regular socials, meals, charity events, and plenty of fancy dress nights.

- 4-5pm - Beginners
- 5-6pm - Intermediate
Match nights:
- Home fixtures played at Cardiff Squash Club on Friday evenings.

Refund Policy:
- Members have the right to have their name removed from the members list on www.cardiffstudents.com at any time.
- Upon cancellation of membership, full refund of the Annual Standard Membership fee will only be available in two circumstances:
- If the Annual Standard Membership fee is purchased before the first training session of the academic year, the member may only claim a full refund in the period between the date of purchase and 14 days following the first training session of the academic year.
- If the Annual Standard Membership fee is purchased for the first time of that academic year after the first training session of the academic year, the member may only claim a full refund in the 14 days following the date of purchase.
- No partial refunds may be claimed
