WELCOME TO CARDIFF UNIVERSITY DANCESPORT CLUB!
Cardiff University Dancesport Club is the only society at Cardiff University to offer lessons in Ballroom, Latin and Salsa dancing for all abilities!
We are dedicated to creating a super friendly atmosphere, where each and every dancer feels they can be themselves and have a familiar face to rely on. Our excellent teachers and coaches provide high quality lessons open to all Cardiff students, from complete beginners all the way up to advanced dancers. We also host weekly socials, including both alcohlic and non-alcoholic events!

We have a highly successful competitive team that competes around the UK on the university circuit. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro, everyone is welcome to compete with Dancesport. Our coaches are Sean Perry, Ella Perry, Gustav Skovbon (Ballroom and Latin) and Andy Witt (Salsa and Bachata). Sean, Ella and Gustav belong to Shappelles dance studio in Ystrad Mynach, a nationally recognised studio with formation teams hosting 29 British Formation Team Titles over the past 25 years. Andy is a well-recognised figure in the Cardiff Salsa scene, known for bringing his love and enthusiasm for the sport wherever he goes.
CLASSES
BALLROOM AND LATIN
Beginner and Novice: Thursdays 7:30pm-9:00pm and Saturdays 11:00am-12:30pm in Talybont South Hall
Open Step: 11:00am-12:30pm in Talybont South Hall
Open Step includes all levels pre-intermediate and above.
SALSA
Beginners: 7:00pm-8:00pm in Y Stiwdio
Improvers: 8:00pm-9:00pm in Y Stiwdio
We also have practice spaces available throughout the week! Updates on dates and times of these will be posted on our member's WhatsApp group chat and Instagram!
