Caving & Canyoning Club
Love adventure and challenging yourself? Why not try caving?
Whether you are an experienced caver, or completely new to the sport, CUCCC offers a unique experience unlike any other. Often compared to an underground assault course, a caving trip can involve short climbs, raging streamways, as well as tight passages which open up into enormous underground chambers. A trip could last several hours, and can be challenging, but is always fun!
We organise trips to some of the biggest and most beautiful caves all over the UK - we regularly cave in the Brecon Beacons and Mendips, and also offer some longer trips to North Wales, the Peak District and the Yorkshire Dales. These include both day trips and overnight stays with lots of caving and social opportunities! We also take part in national events for students cavers (CHECC) at least twice a year which gives lots more opportunities.
We meet every Tuesday at a pub at 7.30PM (dm us to find out), as well as other exciting socials including film nights and nights out (often themed!)

- Membership can be purchased at the bottom of this page - an AU membership is also required if you’re not already a member (this is required for all uni sports clubs)

After joining, most trips are organised through our members only WhatsApp group.
What do I do if I’m nervous?
Understandably, the thought of caving for the first time can make new members nervous. However, rest assured all caving trips are done with competent leaders with lots of experience. If you are ready to push yourself and experience something new, the feeling of accomplishment after getting out of a cave is unlike anything else.

Refunds
Please note we generally cannot issue refunds for tickets. We can only refund you for a GIAG ticket if you give us 48 hours notice beforehand, and we are able to sell the ticket on. We cannot offer refunds for deposits for weekends away. Please contact the club if you have any questions.
