Welsh Hearts Society

Welsh Hearts Society

** Come and join the official best small society, accredited gold tier in our first year **

12 young people die every week in the UK from heart conditions they didn't know they had. Knowing what to do and being confident in emergency situations can help save lives.

We're passionate about teaching as many students as possible these life-saving skills as well as raising money for defibrillators that can make a difference to someone's survival. We're aiming to teach 1000 people these skills this year (currently 798) as well as getting CPR on the Welsh National Curriculum for Schools.

Our regular 'Learn to be a lifesaver' classes are short sessions that will teach you what to do if someone's heart stops, if someone's choking or if they're unconcious. Want us to hold a session for your society or course? Email us at welshhearts@cardiff.ac.uk

We're always looking for new members to help us. Join us for only £2. Teaching these vital skills is great for improving communication skills, building your CV and instilling a sense of satisfaction.

Being a member is not just about teaching. We host regular alcoholic and non-alcoholic events - so far this year we've held a pub quiz, raffle and ran a Christmas stall selling hot chocolates & brownies. You'll have first opportunity to all the benefits of volunteering with the Welsh Hearts charity - including events with the Welsh FA, WRU and Brains Pubs.
