The Variety Society, formerly known as The New Entertainment Society, is a talent and entertainment based society for people with all sorts of unique and entertaining skills from magic to music and anything else entertaining in between.
Our mission is To Encourage Showmanship Skills; Build Confidence & Allow A Platform To Gain Stage Time.
We are an inclusive society dedicated to talent development and aim to bring talented people together in an environment where their talent or skill is developed into a unique act.
We hold an annual 'Variety Performance' to show off many of the acts within our society. We also hold other events throughout the year along with being invited by many other societies to perform at their own societies.
Throughout the year we hold many lectures, workshops and short courses, to develop entertainment based acts in many ways, including but not limited to, showmanship courses, self-promotional courses and even novelty courses such as 'Balloon Modeling'. Our emphasis is on talent development and we believe that much of this is founded in confidence. Hence, we aim to encourage at all times. So, whether you're looking to start a band, have a skill that you want to turn into an act, or if you already have a polished act and just want a way of showcasing it, the Variety Society has something for you!
