Respiratory medicine is a vital, though often overlooked, area of clinical practise. This society will supplement students’ knowledge with high quality teaching sessions that focus on everything from basic anatomy and physiology to clinical medicine, we will ensure that by the time students reach their clinical years they will be more confident in managing patients with respiratory disease.
The Respiratory Medicine Society will host a variety of events including revision sessions, career insight evenings and practical skills sessions. Our revision sessions will be focussed on various aspects of respiratory medicine, and will aid medical students in preparation for their exams across Years 1-5. Our teachers include medical students and practising clinicians.
Furthermore, we aim to inspire students to consider a career in Respiratory Medicine through enhancing the understanding of what a career in Respiratory Medicine entails. In order to do this we will host regular career insight evenings, in which we will invite guest speakers from the Respiratory field to speak about their experiences, as well as the latest developments and research in the respiratory field.
