Park Walks and Picnics Society

Welcome to Park Walks and Picnics!

Our society is focused all around developing the healthy habit of getting outside and enjoying some fresh air! Although this might seem to be boring and mundane, we think this society is an excellent way of meeting new friends, building a community and getting some light exercise in! 

Our aims are to:

  • To create an inclusive society open for everybody to enjoy some fresh air and activity 
  • To enable a fun space for engaging activities and the opportunity to make new friends 
  • To explore Cardiff through easy, manageable walks 
  • To support student’s mental health by providing an outlet for exam stress and take a break from work 

Activities!

Standard walking sessions will be 1-1.5 hours where we meet at an accessible location from where we will follow a preplanned route which all members will have access to during the walk.

Included in the session will be a fun activity at the end which will be decided weekly.

Our semester timetable is TBC

Our walks will take place fortnightly on a Sunday from 3pm  (but this can be subject to change depending on the weather).

Meet at Student's Union (Senghennyed Road entrance)
A wholesome, fun walk around Cardiff showcasing all the city has to offer, followed by a picnic at Bute park (weather dependent).
Picnic In The Park - Get To Know The Society
8th October 3pm - 5pm
Bute Park
Come on down to Bute park for a fun picnic where you'll get to know your committee and fellow members. Make sure to follow our instagram as we will post updates about our meeting location closer to the time.
Try Something New Picnic
11th October 2pm - 4pm
Room 3F (Cardiff Student's Union)
This is the first edition of our ‘Try Something New’ series, where we aim to teach you a fun skill each session. This time, our co-president Sam is going to teach you some beginner friendly linework embroidery.
