Marine Conservation and Scientific Diving Society

Marine Conservation and Scientific Diving Society

The Marine Conservation and Scientific Dive society are focused on all things marine. Whether you are studying a related course, interested in marine life or just want to start a new hobby we welcome everyone.

For qualified divers we offer trips to the local National Dive and Activity Centre (NDAC) at Chepstow, Cromhall Quarry in Gloucester, Cosmeston Lakes in Penarth and an annual trip to the Medes Island Reserve in Spain.

We are also planning to organise a group trip to the Dive Show at the NEC in Birmingham on 27th of October.

Many of the senior members of the society have experience in diving and snorkelling worldwide. Some have even been lucky enough to work on Marine Conservation research projects. These members are able to pass on valuable experience and techniques to members looking to find careers or placements in the Marine Conservation/Biology Subject areas.

One of the goals of the society is to get everybody in the water from snorkelling to diving, we will also be running more social activities and talks, so don’t panic if the water is not for you.

If you are interested in getting involved with the society please come talk to us at our stall during this year’s freshers fair. Alternatively you can contact a committee member directly or through the societies email: SciDive@cardiff.ac.uk

Please log in to view the committee.
