Join us at Cardiff University Meditation Society with weekly discussions and guided meditations to help start or develop your practice. The society is suitable for everyone, whether you're an experienced meditator or an absolute beginner. It is also FREE to join the society, but please remember that to become a member you must join the Guild of Societies (one-off, £6 fee).
Meditation is becoming increasingly popular in the Western world as many of us, including doctors and scientists, continue to discover its wonderful benefits. To name just a few, it has been shown to help reduce stress, anxiety, depression, improve concentration and strengthen our immune systems. By helping you to develop a practice, we hope that meditation can assist in dealing with the stresses of university work and help to create a more balanced and positive life.
This year we have some great things lined up such as:
-experienced guest speakers
-mindful eating sessions
-mindfulness movement sessions
…. and potentially many more things to look forward to (open to suggestions)
The standard meditation sessions will be weekly on Mondays at 6PM, this may be open to change if we can find more suitable times for the group.
Growing together and sharing the benefits of meditation with the group is what this society is all about. We hope to create a non-judgemental calm environment where you will feel comfortable to meditate and potentially share the positive and negative experiences of your meditations!
