Make a Smile Cardiff

Make a Smile is a UK-wide charity that provides enrichment to children in hospitals and to children with disabilities in the community through visits from beloved childrens' characters (think Disney Princesses and Superheroes).

There are three different volunteer roles available with us:

• Character - attending events, playing games and interacting with the children as a character

• Magic Maker - attending events, playing games and interacting with the children out of character. Often act as supporting staff and is a good jumping pad to becoming a character. 

• Imagineer - an underrated role; not attending events but helping with the general running of the project, organising events and helping with costumes etc. This is great for anyone short on time or not wanting to attend events. 

As a university society, we provide a brilliant collaborative space for all our volunteers to learn new skills, socialise, and of course participate in our Make A Smile events. If you want to improve your acting skills, learn BSL, fundraise for national charity or just watch Disney movies then our society is for you! Help us bring a smile to the children in our community :)
