Croeso [Welcome] to Doctor Who Society!
Whether you've seen a couple episodes or are deep in obscure lore, we're a relaxed, welcoming society to get together for the love of Doctor Who in all its forms. We promise you won't fall into Cardiff's rift in space-time.
Format
Weekly Socials
We consistently run events on Tuesday evenings (approx. 17:00-19:00) during the semester. These are non-alcoholic meetups that alternate each week between a Screening (as voted on our Discord) and a more interactive activity such as a Powerpoint Night, Drawing Frenzy or Script Reading for example.
We're nearly always in the same campus location but will still release weekly announcements to keep people in the loop on what's going on.
Special Events
Breaking from our regular Tuesday slot we occasionally have other events a few times throughout the year. These are often trips or crossovers with our societies. Announcements and the Newsletter will do their best to keep members informed.
What we're most proud of is our continued participation this year in Whoniversity Challenge, where teams from Doctor Who Societies across the UK and even Australia compete in quizzes.
Community
We have an active Discord server to discuss Doctor Who or just whatever you're up to. If you're itching to drop a review of something, show some artwork you've been doing or just want to chat it's a great place. This is also the where to suggest episodes for Screenings and vote on them via react emojis to decide what we'll watch.
While Announcements and Committee are generally more active and responsive on our Discord, we also have an Instagram to highlight events and answer any questions if it's your preferred media.
Membership
Membership is only £1.50 for the whole year. It'll give you access to all of our socials and add you to our email list for our monthly newsletter letting you know what's coming up.
