Lawyers Without Borders Society

Welcome to the Lawyers without Borders Student Division (LWOB) at Cardiff University page!

Lawyers Without Borders is an international charitable organisation which aims to protect human rights and promote the rule of law. The organisation is made up of lawyers from around the world who provide pro bono services to access to justice and human rights initiatives. The importance of the organisation in upholding human rights, ensuring legal integrity and raising awareness has been seen globally in relation to issues such as human trafficking, wildlife crime and child labour.

Whatever your course, if you are passionate about human rights or just interested in learning more, we encourage you to join us! The LWOB Student Division will give you the opportunity to be a part of an internationally recognised organisation. This could enhance your future prospects in many fields, especially if a career related to human rights appeals to you.

The LWOB Student Division is apolitical, and has a friendly environment which allows everyone to be heard. We aim to raise awareness about human rights and the rule of law in relation to national and international issues. This will be done with a variety of fundraising events (including bake sales, social events and sports events), and awareness campaigns (such as a newsletter, debates and speakers) throughout the year. Finally, we may organise trips (for example to the LWOB Annual Rule of Law Innovation Challenge, which is held in the UK in spring).

In addition to this page, we operate an Instagram page which posts lots of useful information including details about upcoming events - don’t hesitate to get in contact with us if you have any questions. Alternatively, you can find out more about LWOB on their website.

We hope to see you soon!
