Heath Park on Tour is a project we started to support you during your placement experience away from Cardiff. We offer a series of activities where you are while you’re on placement. The activities are free and give you the chance to meet up with other students.

My Scrubs, My Choice Fy Ngwisg, Fy Newis

Every student deserves to be able to dress modestly for any reason at any time, including healthcare dress code. That is what the My Scrubs, My Scrubs AGM motion was all about. We are pleased to share that we have completed the motion's resolves in full!

Tackling Sexual Violence Mynd i'r Afael â Thrais Rhywiol

Sexual violence and misconduct can happen anywhere, even on your placement. For students at Heath Park, this can be perpetuated by staff, patients or even your fellow students. With the healthcare setting being so fast paced it can be hard to know where to report or how to challenge such behaviour.

BMA conducted a study with medical students which found that 41% of female and 19% of male respondents have experienced sexual assault during their studies, including on their clinical placement with 67% of those choosing not to report over fear that nothing would be done.

Whatever you choose to do and whenever you choose to do it, support is available to you. You deserve safety, dignity and love. Whatever has happened is not your fault and there are people available to you to speak to, no matter what, with no judgement . You do not have to do this alone; there is help available to you.

For reporting NHS Staff, patients or the general public whilst on placement you should contact your personal tutor or your Placement Education Facilitator. In Addition you should also contact your respective NHS Health Board.

Report + Support Adrodd + Chymorth

Report + Support is Cardiff University’s confidential tool for raising concerns and accessing support. This is not a formal reporting tool but it can start the process of giving you guidance and support in then being able to make the decision to formally report using one of the other methods above.
