For the LGBT+ Community, the risk of struggling with mental health is higher.

But you are not alone. At Cardiff, you have an abundance of support available to you. This week we will be going all over campus to raise awareness for mental health in the LGBT+ Community.

Upcoming Events

LGBT+ Support at Cardiff:

Student Support:

We have a dedicated team of counselling and wellbeing staff based at 50 Park Place, who will be able to offer a variety of mental health support. This includes: talking therapy, mental health adviser appointments and drop-in sessions, amongst other things. For LGBT+ students, you will be able to discuss any issue you may be facing in confidence.

Drop-in sessions run every weekday: Monday- Friday: 15:00-15:45 and on Wednesdays, 09:30-10:15.

The support centre for Heath students is based at Cardigan House. For information on what is offered, please visit the intranet.

The Student Support and Wellbeing Team will also be launching some new, enhanced support options specifically for LGBT+ students, at an event on Monday 18th February. Attend the event to find out more! book here.

Based on the 3rd floor of the Students’ Union, their advisers are able to guide you on a variety of different issues, ranging from mental health to housing and money worries. They run drop-ins 11:00-14:00 every weekday, or 12:00-14:00 Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Heath, and you are able to book longer appointments by contacting them.
