Event Information
Meet at 6pm for a warm up, before a taster interval/speed session at the NIAC. This session is open to all abilities - you will need to be able to run ~5km.
If you have jogged to the track - please arrive at 6.15pm.
If you have travelled to the track via public transport/driven - please arrive at 6pm to do a few laps warm up jog prior to drills.
At 6.15pm the group will start drills and the session will start at 6.30pm
Access to the outdoors track can be through the main NIAC reception - ask for directions from the reception staff.
Easy access can also be gained around the back through the carpark gates (which are usually open). What3Words: voters.insect.submit

Go to Homepage > Book Open Athletics > Confirm you have read the decleration.
Select the 18:30 session on Monday 26/01/26. (The training session starts at 18:15, this booking slot includes the whole evening)

What to expect from the session:
This session is designed to introduce you to our endurance squad - led by our qualified coaches Dan and Georgia
- We will start with some static and dynamic warmups, as well as teaching you drills. These drills are designed to improve form and to provide helpful cues to remember when training.
- We will then start the session itself. These sessions are designed to improve you speed, endurance and form.
What to bring:
- Appropriate exercise wear
- Running trainers
- Water
- We will be outdoors, so bring a warm layer as it gets cold

The track is located on the Cardiff Met Cyncoed Campus, with many forms of transportation available to and from the track (full details below).

On foot:
- If travelling from the Centre for Student Life, 53 minutes walk
By bike:
- Follow the same route as if you were travelling on foot. It should take you around 21 minutes.
By car/taxi:
- Follow the same route as if you were cycling or travelling on foot. This should take between 12-15 minutes.
By bus:
- The 52 bus departs from Cathays every 30mins
- M1 Met Rider departs from Cathays every ~1hour
