Welcome to Cardiff Polo club! We hope to provide a fun and supportive start to your polo journey, whether you have never even sat on a horse before, or are a well seasoned rider who's looking for something new. We are open to everyone at every level, as long as you like to have fun! 

This hour and a half long session will introduce you to all the basics that you will need to start your journey to being a top goal player!

The even will be held at our local polo club, Longdole, an hour and a quarter outside Cardiff, and drivers will be provided. First, you will learn your swing using our hand mallets, before practising hitting with form with a full sized stick on our wooden horse. The second half will then be using the horses, putting together everything you have learnt while moving, and even play a small practise game! 

 

We will start with one GIAG sessions, but don't worry if you miss out on the first, because if there is enough interest we can always hold more! 

The date will be saturday the 14th of febuary, and we will all meet and leave from the Lidl car park in Cathays. The exact timings will be released ASAP on our whatsapp groupchat so please remember to join, and we will aim to be back for the evening, we know everyone has saturday plans - 14/02/26 

Unfortuntley due to time constraints we won't be able to wait for more in a couple minutes past our leave time if anyone is late, so please be on time! Tickets are limited by available drivers so hurry!

What to bring: 

  • If you have your own riding gear, helmets and boots, then please bring these to use. But if not, then they can be provided. Even if you don't have proper riding boots, boots with a heel and flat soles are great! 
  • It will be chilly still, so even if you're hot during the GIAG, make sure to bring layers/coats/hats for the rest of the time! We have a lovely warm clubhouse next to the arena to warm up in too, with hot chocolates/tea and coffees offered afterwards. 
  • an open and willing mind!
