Medics Netball Club
What is Medics Netball Club?
Medics Netball is a close-knit, sociable netball club, primarily made up of healthcare students. We host weekly training sessions and cater to a wide range of netball abilities.
What teams are available, and what level do they play at?
- Our 1st and 2nd teams compete in BUCS, offering high-level netball against other universities. With both our 1st and 2nd teams winning their respective leagues last season, we now play an even higher level of competitive netball.
- We also play in NAMS, the National Medical School league, and rank among the best medical netball teams in the UK.
- We have three IMG teams that play fun, weekly interdepartmental matches, perfect for all abilities—from county-level players to those playing just for fun.
When do the teams train?
- BUCS & IMG teams: separate training sessions on Tuesday evenings
- Weekly matches: Every Wednesday afternoon for all teams, and weekends for NAMS games
- Full club training: A session for all playing members takes place on Sunday afternoons
What kind of events do you organize?
We offer a variety of activities beyond netball. These include friendly matches, specialised training, charity events, and our Thursday Run Club, where members can enjoy a social run, open to all fitness levels. Socials are a big part of the club, ranging from toga parties and Christmas celebrations to weekly Wednesday socials to celebrate match day.
What are the social benefits of joining Medics Netball?
Students find Medics Netball a valuable way to meet others from their courses. The club is a great way to build friendships, connect with senior students for advice, and enhance your overall university experience.
