Marxist Society
The Cardiff Marxist Society are the Communists on campus and are training the next generation of class fighters in the struggle for revolution. We’re part of the Revolutionary Communist International (https://www.marxist.com), building up the forces of communism across the world.
As the global crisis of capitalism deepens, the class struggle is intensifying and people are beginning to understand that capitalism offers no way out of the current crisis. We’re seeing revolution after revolution across the world this year, starting with Indonesia, spreading all across south-east Asia, and to Peru and Madagascar too.
Not only this, we’ve seen a general strike in France as the capitalist government continues to collapse and fail to deal with either the massive debt crisis or the falling standards of living.
In Italy, 2 million workers took to the streets in a political general strike for Palestine. This genocide has been a lightning rod of all of the accumulated anger in society. People can see that their governments are funding this genocide, and have only under the pressure of workers, signed a “peace” agreement - but we know that with a technocratic government led by Trump and Blair, and homes which are completely destroyed, that this is no real peace.
We have no trust in the imperialists to put an end to imperialism! That is why we are organising on campus. The only thing these revolutions have lacked has been a revolutionary leadership capable of drawing them to their conclusion: the working class in power. This is what we’re building, and why you should get organised with us.
As Communists we educate, agitate and organise. We educate our members in the ideas of Marxism so we can fight back against capitalist ideas, we attend picket lines and demonstrations, we sell our Marxist paper, we find other Communists who want to fight - and ultimately build an revolutionary organisation in Wales, the UK and across the world.
