Feminist Society
Whether you're curious about feminism or already passionate about the cause, Cardiff University Feminist Society is for you! We welcome members of all genders who are interested in learning more, taking an active stance against gender inequality, and want to make amazing friends!
What do we do?
We hold regular, casual meetings every Tuesday between 6-7pm that provide a safe space to discuss feminist topics, sharing our own experiences and building plans for further activism. These topics include intersectionality, the health gap, body positivity, and so much more!
Furthermore, we also host a variety of fun socials, both sober and non-sober, including coffee mornings, club nights, art evenings, and karaoke. See upcoming events below! These are such great opportunities to connect with like-minded people and have some fun :)
Additionally, Feminist Society works closely with many local and international gender equality charities, hosting fundraisers throughout the year. Our largest fundraiser, and a key highlight in the calendar, is the International Women's Day Showcase hosted at Y Plas. It showcases the extraordinary talent of women in and around our local community, boasting an impressive and exciting evening of dance, music and more!!
Across all these activities and events, we aim to be as intersectional as possible, considering feminism in relation to race, social class, disability and LGBTQ+ issues.
Memberships!
Our memberships are £6 and include access to all meetings, activities, and events hosted by the Feminist Society. Some events may require additional costs in order to make the event possible, but you will always be notified of this! Once you have purchased a membership, message our Instagram (@cufeminists) with your full name, proof of membership purchase, and phone number to be added to our WhatsApp group chat!
