Athletic Union Sports Clubs are run by students, for students. We've over 60 to choose from including individual and team sports like Tennis, Squash, Football and Netball. We also have a large variety of outdoor and watersports including Mountaineering, Caving, Kayaking and Sub Aqua. That's not all, then there's even more including Clay Pigeon Shooting, Dance, Yoga and a host of martial arts groups. Each club is different, so take a look at what suits you, but all will have an active sporting and social calendar.
The Athletic Union runs a number of sports programmes in conjunction with Cardiff University Sport. There is a very active 11-a-side and 7-a-side Football league and a Netball league, where fixtures are played weekly. You can either get a group of friends together to form a team, or you can look at joining one of the existing teams and many are keen to take on board new players. We've also host a number of leagues and events in other sports including Squash, Tennis, Badminton and Dodgeball.

Student Volunteering Cardiff is one of the U.K’s largest student led volunteering organisations. We currently have approximately 1000 volunteers working on more than 30 projects with disadvantaged and vulnerable people in Cardiff.
Our projects include working with children and young people with a disability, working in a homeless drop in centre, helping people with mental health problems, and working with adults with learning disabilities in a community garden.
The projects are rewarding so it’s fun and fulfilling. You will meet loads of new people through our regular socials such as pub quizzes and a Winter Ball. Through the experience you will gain valuable skills which will increase your chances of gaining employment or going onto postgraduate study.
You can choose to volunteer for as few or as many hours as you can spare. With projects having one-off, weekly and monthly commitments we can find the placement to suit you.
