This project is running this year and is looking for Lead Volunteers!
Originally set up by a Medic Undergraduate student in 2015, students helped redistribute foodstuffs from the Students’ Union and University catering outlets to local homelessness charities with the dual aims of reducing food waste and providing for those in poverty.
Our hope for this year is to work with the VP Societies and Volunteering to set up our own community fridge within the SU so join us if you want to get involved and watch this space!
This has also helped to run the Cathays Community Fridge project based at Cathays Community Centre - a community fridge where surplus food is donated by local businesses and shared freely between people in the community.
