This year, Cardiff Volunteering has teamed up with British and Welsh Cycling to find 10 Guided Ride leaders, to join an existing team of Guided Ride leaders in Cardiff and inspire more people to get fit, have fun and ride bikes in our amazing City.
You don’t need to be a cycling expert or competitive racer, just be confident riding in a group and have a good level of cycling fitness. The project is open to all kinds of cyclists as long as you have heaps of enthusiasm and you’re happy to support beginner bike riders and families.
Full Ride Leadership Award and Basic First Aid training will be provided. The assessed one-day course qualifies you to deliver guided bike rides within the HSBC UK Guided Ride programme for groups of beginner and intermediate level adults and accompanied children on roads and cycle paths. All Guided Ride leaders will need to be First Aid trained and British Cycling will issue all ride leaders with a first aid kit, ride leader kit and membership for the year, all Guided Ride leaders are expected to organise a minimum of eight rides a year.
