What is the volunteering role?

What are the aims of this organisation/role?

Work with blind and visually impaired young people ages 0-29 on a wide range of activities. Activities range from sport, music, dance, residentials, art and much more.

What can volunteers expect to gain?

Sense of achievement and fulfilment after working with visually impaired young people. Experience working with people with additional needs and their families.

What skills and abilities do I need to take on this role?

We run a wide range of activities, (everything from high ropes and white water rafting to cooking and dancing) so we are looking for dedicated volunteers to help support the young people. This could be guiding, helping them physically with the activity, getting them socialising and just getting them all engaged. We need someone who is enthusiastic and empathetic, who can bring the energy and can just have a good time.

VICTA are national and activity locations differ throughout the year.

What is the time commitment of this role?

Monthly

Is a DBS check required?

Yes, but VICTA will provide this and support you through the process.
