What is the volunteering role?

What are the aims of this organisation/role?

To support children falling behind at school with their literacy skills.

What can volunteers expect to gain?

Experience working with children and leading small groups online. Develop communication, leadership, problem-solving and digital skills.

What skills and abilities do I need to take on this role?

Looking for volunteers 16+ looking to help children practise their reading and writing in small groups by providing constant encouragement, positivity and celebration of their achievements. We ask volunteers to give just three hours per month, although you are welcome to volunteer as frequently as you like!  Sessions run every weekday during term time from 3:45 to 6:15 p.m. and you will have the flexibility to select which sessions you would like to attend. Please note, we do not run sessions during half terms or the Christmas, Easter and Summer holidays.

The volunteering role requires an enhanced DBS background check which we provide free of charge.
