What is the volunteering role?

What are the aims of this organisation/role?

The impact of volunteering fundraising groups can be huge, for us as a charity as well as you. It can give you the opportunity to use your skills and self-motivation to make friends, socialise and build transferable skills all whilst raising much-needed money for Deafblind UK. You will become a fundamental part of yout group as well as the wider fundraising team. Your fundraising effors will help us to enable people who are deafblind to live their lives to the full. The role can be varied depending on what you want to do.

What skills and abilities do I need to take on this role?

Have a warm, friendly and enagaging manner. To be active and engaged in the group. To be trustworth and reliable, including the ability to handle money. To get on well with people from diverse backgrounds and be able to work as part of a team. To communicate effectively and confidently with a variety of audiences. To be able to organise and run events, always adhering to relevant policies and procedures. Understanding of and commitment to equality and diversity. To be able to udnertsnd the need for support for deafblind people and their loved ones, including the diversity of our member base. A willingness to learn more about deafblindness. Previous fundraising experience would be helpful but is not essential.
